3. Why do we need an Assembly?

We need an Assembly to: 1.) re-assemble the country, state back to its original jurisdiction 2.) be based upon the Bill of Rights, Constitution, Fundamental Orders, Declaration of Independence 3.) re-address grievances 4.) put power back in (with) the people 5.) because an individual does not carry as much weight as numbers of common minded peoples to attain the power of lawfull authority.

f. Meeting Etiquette reminder for Michigan Meetings/Calls & National Calls:

Our Republic has never been a monoculture of thought. Any belief system that supports the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights is welcomed here. National – the first hour of the call is national assembly business, open discussion/training time follows. State calls are business, education, & open discussion if time allows. Given the large number of people whose input is essential and the limited time available, remember to make your statements as succinct as possible. Please mute your phone as soon as you’re done speaking to prevent feedback and background noise issues.

Hints for newcomers:

1. Each meeting begins with roll call.  Say “your name & county”, say “settled” if your county is settled.

2. Rules of order keep the business meeting flowing. Who speaks is controlled by the meeting's chairperson. To speak, say, "May I” requests the floor and wait to be recognized.  You surrender the floor with "I yield & I mute myself" to let the next person speak.

3. Disagreements and growing pains are normal and expected. Please be patient with us and with yourself. Help us become the group we need to be.

4. Newcomers are invited to listen in and glean from the discussion. Your thirst for answers might not be met in your first week, but they will often be covered between the calls and your own research on the state and national websites.

Hints for all:

1. Patience & tolerance for people of all knowledge & experience levels is much appreciated.

2. This is a political/governing body not an ideological fan club. Examples exist to be followed, but sovereignty of thought & local function are to be respected.

3. We are all in this together; this is our moment to prove we are up to the task.

If not us, who? If not now, when?

4. Step one is first for a reason.

5. Be on time for meetings; you will be happy & the Assembly will appreciate it.
